Phase 1

Phase 1 of my house remodel began this week with my living room addition. One of the things that they did was take down my fence so they could drive the backhoe into my yard. With the fence coming down, that means that my dogs have to be inside or in the garage all the time. That sucks for both us & my dogs, but it's only temporary. It's exciting to see construction under way & it's even more so, knowing that it'll be done before Christmas. After that, phase 2, kitchen remodel. Until then, life will be a little more hectic.

Liar...

The vet told me that I wouldn't have to worry about little Higgins for about a year. Well, he's a liar. Higgins is already working for domination. This morning, however, Carter the female tried to establish dominance, but Higgins resisted & complained that it was so unnatural.

What trickery is this?

Some pretty funny stuff happened last week with some students in youth group. One of the girls birthday was on thursday & she informed me that she was having some friends over for a party so she wouldn't be able to come to youth group that week. I invited her to bring her friends to youth group as part of the party. To my surprise, she brought 17 of her closest friends. I can't name 17 people I'd want to hang out with for an overnighter...oh to be a 13 year old girl again.

Anyway, youth group started as it always does with some delicious food & as we approached the end of dinner time, I told everyone to throw away their trash & go to the bathroom because we were gunna start. A couple of the new girls asked what we were starting. I told them that we were starting youth group & they had no clue what that was. This was good stuff. It came to my attention that not all of the girls knew that they were coming to youth group, but just thought they were going to party at a church. I had a good laugh & noticed that Dave did too, as I explained what youth group was to a group of wide eyed middle school girls.

I talked to the birthday girl's mom, and told her that it seemed like alot of the girls had no clue what they were going to be doing there. She laughed & said that she didnt tell them all & the ones that she did tell freaked out because they were wearing shorts & were afraid that the pastor was going to be harsh because they weren't "dressed appropriately" for church. The entire night was pretty funny to me. I felt bad for a second that the girls were tricked into coming to youth group, but only for a second. The night turned out really good & I haven't heard anything negative or received any complaints from parents.

What to do?

So what do you do when you have band practice & a wife? The better question is, what do I do with my wife during band practice?

A- Drop her off at the mall with the credit card
B- Lock her in the car & roll the window down
C- Call a babysitter

That is crap

I just wrote a post for the first time in awhile & hit publish & it erased everything. It may be a sign. Screw you blogspot.

Life at it's Best

Well it's true. I've been gone for awhile, or at least off the board. I've been busy getting screwed in my fantasy football league, training my dog to not crap in his crate, & fighting with some real life issues. I've also lacked some inspiration when it comes to blogging.

I recently went to a conference in Danville for my job. It was nice to get away for a few days with some friends & relax. If you've never been to danville, Ill let you in on a little secret. It's a pretty ritzy place. I drove my explorer down & found it hard to find a parking spot that was big enough. It seems like the spots are designed more for the porsche & mercedes. Of course that was frustrating, but eventually found a spot next to a van with a Coit sign on it. I laughed. We went to a chinese joint looking for brint's mom, but remembered that she's vietamese. The food was bad & the music was worse. I'd never been in a chinese restaurant that played pop rock music. Just weird.

Anyway, we're back & I plan on getting into rare form in the blogging world.
