My Christian...

Someone at my church approached me yesterday & started telling me about this new website he had created & how cool it was. He told me the site address & I lost interest completely. It is called something along the lines of my christian space. It's not the first time I've heard of "christian alternatives" to myspace, but I still had the same thoughts going through my head...BORING! This guy is a good guy & I know that he & probably the rest of the freaked out people have good intentions with their christian spaces. But, and a big but, I think he & the others in the christian community are missing the point. Christians have been called to be in the world, which means hanging out & interacting with the "fire-breathing heathens." In an attempt to provide a christian alternative, all that is really being done is creating a christian bubble so we don't have to see or put up with "them." The sad this is that the creating of christian bubbles is happening in our world today in more places that the internet.
