Interesting read...

I started reading the book of Enoch. Enoch is one of the people who never died, but "was taken" by God. Obviously, if you've blown the dust off your sword, you'll know that the book of Enoch is not in the Bible. However, it was in there for over 500 years. I read it every morning at the gym following my workout while I ride the bike. It's very interesting in its explanations of angels, demons, judgement, & creation. That is about how far I am so far. I always thought that demons were the 1/3 of the angels that were cast from heaven with Lucifer. Not true. They are actually incarcerated awaiting final judgement. Yay. I wonder why Enoch didn't make the cut during cannonization...
Thought provoking stuff.

Demons are the offspring of the angels (aka watchers) who took human women as wives & had sex with them. The offspring were giants (nephalim). It's mentioned in Genesis 6.

Any reason that Enoch was "removed" from the Canon? (You know I'm not just antagonizing you brother...?)

And it's Nephilim - say it with me: NEPH I LIM

The moses & I were looking at why Enoch was cut out after 500 years. Apparently, the fathers didn't like the part about angels & women procreating. Weird.

so were the offspring giants or demons? your answer said both. i am confused.

angels and women procreating is genesis as well, why didn't they remove that?

If Enoch was written by the translated Enoch of Genesis, wouldn't that make it the oldest biblical book? (no point, just an observation)

Q: Who was the oldest man who ever lived, yet died before his father did?
A: Methuselah, whose father was Enoch.

Did you know that Methusalah died the same year as the flood? I wonder if he died in the flood or just before?

Brint- Demons are the spirits of the giants. Not sure why they didn't take the Genesis part out.

Tim- Good sunday school question. As for Enoch being the Enoch of Genesis...Yes. 2 words. Oral Tradition. I know what that means but it wouldn't sound as good if I explained it.
